Edinburgh International Festival is:

 

A celebration of life. People are coming in flocks to try and make  some sense of the world.   These festivals have been a symbol of Scotland.  A finite amount of time and an insane amount of art coming at you.   It’s a marvellous concentration of artistic talent.

 

These are some of the sentiments expressed in the advertising of this year’s Festival.   As you may know, one of the inspirers for the Festival was Henry Harvey Wood, whose daughter, the late Alison Harvey Wood, was a member of Mayfield Salisbury.
